Erst in Zeiten der Corona-Pandemie haben Menschen vielleicht ein Gespür dafür entwickelt, was ihnen fehlt: Echter Umgang mit echten Menschen, eine Berührung, ein Lächeln, ein Handschlag, eine Umarmung.

Mit meiner Serie "Corona - nearness is the problem" möchte ich Bilder zeigen, die ihre Ästhetik zwar behalten, wenn keine Menschen anwesend sind, die aber dennoch eine große Leere zeigen, das Fundamentale, das Konstitutive für Sinn in unserer Existenz fehlt. Darum stehen die Bilder im Wechsel zueinander: Manche sind, wie gesagt, "leer", manche sind erfüllt von Menschen, weil diese der Szene Leben geben.

It was only in times of the corona pandemic that people may have developed a feeling for what they are missing: Real contact with real people, a touch, a smile, a handshake, a hug.

With my series "Corona - nearness is the problem" I want to show pictures that retain their aesthetics when no people are present, but which nevertheless show a great void, the fundamental, the constitutive for meaning in our existence is missing. That is why the images alternate with one another: some are, as I said, "empty", some are filled with people because they give life to the scene.
